The Cowichan Valley Arts Café is a common type of web blog that comments on art.

Blogs have taken on 'web 2.0' social networking features. Art web blogs can develop to become a source of information about artists and arts events, a way to share artistic vision and images about community, and provide a virtual meeting ground; as in a café.

Art blog entries cover a wide range of topics, from art reviews and commentary to insider art world gossip, art news, personal essays, portfolios, poetry, interviews, artists' journals, etc. On this blog the most recent entry is at the top of the list of all posts.

Art blogs also serve as a forum to reach out to anybody interested in art whether it's painting, sculpture, print making, creative photography, video art, conceptual art or new media.

We welcome practitioners of different forms of art, collectors, connoisseurs, and critics!

Please see Terms of Use.

There are millions of online forums dedicated to social interaction and these are a few guidelines governing the use of the Cowichan Valley Arts Café. These guidelines will allow members and readers to share opinions without being offensive.
  • Be polite. You’re not going to agree with every post you read. Allow others their opinion. You shouldn't be less polite on the Web than you would be in person.
  • Check your facts. Posting incorrect information makes you look like an amateur and can be a libelous offense.
  • Don't copy content without permission. Copyright rules apply. Always ask permission to use more than a few lines with a link. Give credit where credit is due.
  • Make your entry meaningful. Make the "Title" of your post relevant to its content and make the content easy to read.
